
SDG 7 2026, 655 million without electricity or affordability crisis?
SDG 7 sounds like a technical UN indicator, but the latest figures make it very concrete: 655 million people still have no access to electricity and approximately two billion people cook with polluting fuels or techniques. The problem is not just that there are too few cables, panels or mini-grids. Even where infrastructure comes closer, connection, wiring and basic consumption may remain too expensive.
